Accommodations at the county commission room were cramped Monday when 18 rural residents from the northern part of Marion County came in to protest road conditions in the area. Gene Bielefeld of rural Hope headed the delegation.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laubhan, Marion, announce the engagement of their daughter, Laurie, to Tom Koslowsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Koslowsky, Hillsboro. A May 1 wedding is being planned.

Marion County 4-H leaders were honored at the annual recognition program Nov. 21. The leader with the longest tenure is Leo Jirak, community leader of the Tampa Triple T’s 4-H Club with 31 years of active leadership.

Troy Crissup, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Evans of Cedar Point, was honored recently at the Kansas Quarter Horse Association. He received awards for being the leading jockey in Kansas for the past year.
