Turkey Daze, sponsored by Marion Chamber of Commerce to promote retail sales downtown, will be Saturday.

Paper plates offering various prizes will be tossed off the roof of Marion True Value Hardware at 3rd and Main St. every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There also will be a turkey parade, turkey-calling contest, children’s game, table-tennis tournament, and week-long troll hunt with a grand prize of a $25 gift certificate.

This is Warrior Week in Marion with the Marion High School Warriors football team continuing to roll up victory after victory in a dedicated effort to win the state championship. The Warriors defeated Immaculata 35-7 Friday in regionals and will be host for a sub-state game Friday against Wellsville.

Jeanne Maki was chosen as November associate of the month at Marion Manor. Jeanne is a licensed practical nurse and has worked at Marion Manor for five years.

Katrina Hancock of Marion High School was named to the first team Cottonwood Valley League volleyball squad. Jodi Thomas was named to the second team.
