Marion Summerfest ’93 kicks off Friday and Saturday with two concerts, a volleyball tournament, and chances to win a weekend getaway in Las Vegas. Marion-based ambulance crews will serve hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks all day Saturday and Saturday night. Marion Fire Department will serve popcorn, soft drinks, lemonade, and iced tea Friday and Saturday nights.
Amanda Janzen, Marion High School graduate, ended her track career in high fashion by taking first place in the high jump at the state track meet May 29 at Wichita State University. Amanda holds the high jump record at Marion High School with a height of 4 feet 10 inches. She set the record during her sophomore year.
Mike Meisinger has joined Farmers and Drovers National Bank, according to bank president Larry Reiswig. He began work as a loan officer at the Hillsboro branch.
Births announced in this issue include that of Emily Diane Hett, daughter of David and Diane Hett of Marion, born May 29 at Memorial Hospital, McPherson.
Ty Siebert of Emporia graduated June 5 from Executive Security International at Aspen, Colorado. His graduation qualifies him as a professional bodyguard to protect VIPs. His parents are Jerry and Micki Siebert of Cedar Point. He is a graduate of Chase County High School.
