Federal law enforcement authorities are requesting information to assist them in locating a red, two-wheel trailer, and the possible source of a quantity of 55 gallon plastic barrels.

These items have been used by persons responsible for the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Two more listings from Marion County have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. They are the Santa Fe Trail segments near Durham, nominated by Doug Sharp of Scully Estates, and the Island Field Ranch farmstead near Antelope nominated by Roy and Judy Houdyshell and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Loveless.

Pictured is a group, performing “You Ain’t Had a Friend Like Me” from Disney’s “Aladdin” at the Marion Chamber of Commerce’s Lip-Synch contest Saturday evening. Part of the annual Summerfest series, the contest attracted a good crowd of spectators.

A missing angler also missed the opportunity of snagging a 3,000 pound GM fish in an otherwise lifeless pond developed when the drain clogged at Central National Bank’s parking lot. Pictured is a chair, bait bucket, and fishing pole installed at water’s edge by an anonymous jokester.
