Dynamite and blasting caps taken in a burglary at Martin-Marietta quarries in late September are still missing, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports.

Brian Pagenkopf and Meggan Silhan were named Centre High School’s homecoming king and queen Friday. The Cougars defeated White City 57-8 in a game called in the third quarter.

Pictured are Lynn and Peggy Kleiber who were just two of the volunteers working Saturday during the annual Tampa State Bank hog roast.

The town’s Main Street was filled with customers and friends, out on a crisp, but still, evening to enjoy food, conversation, and music by Cactus Jack.

Retired grocer Jack Beaston accomplished the ultimate goal of the game, when he aced number three green Saturday at Marion Country Club.

The event was witnessed by Dr. Earl Wood, John Brose, Jerry Higgins, Jack Summerville, and Harlow Warneke.

Fourth graders at Marion Elementary School and their teacher Bill Darrow took an all-day science trip to World Impact Ranch near Florence Thursday.
