Marion city commissioners heard reports Monday afternoon about vandalism in Central Park. Police Chief Don Keazer reported three of the memorial gas lights had been broken over the weekend and that there was debris of a party nearby. Due to the increase in vandalism, commissioners are considering closing the park daily at 11 p.m.

Mike Regnier of Marion won a brand-spanking-new 1993 GMC pickup Saturday in Wichita while attending an automotive open house at Big Western Warehouse.

“Pillow Talk,” a comedy in three acts, will be this year’s spring production by drama students at Marion High School. Lesley Sieger will play the part of the young New York interior decorator and Micah Hanson will portray the successful songwriter/playboy.

Students from Marion High School participated in “Community Service Day” Friday in Marion and Florence. They spent the school day doing odd jobs to help beautify each community, and show appreciation to the citizens.

Specially designed buttons will be used for admission to Summerfest ’93. The buttons, bearing the ’93 Summerfest logo, have been designed by Marion High School student Bryan Padgham. “Liverpool,” the opening act June 12, performs Beatles music in the style of the original band.
