Brian Bina, son of Laverne and Harriet Bina, received a letter this week from General Norman Schwarzkopf, along with some photographs, in recognitions of his impersonations of the hero of the Desert Storm war. Brian will once again be driving his Jeep, “one more time,” he says, in the annual Christmas parade at Wichita.

Weddings announced in this issue included those of Merilee Gay Seney and Christopher Lee Blackman, Oct. 5; Angela Plett and Matt Ehlers, Oct. 25; and Brenda Hein and Bob Knight, Oct. 12.

More than 180 persons were served at the second annual Thanksgiving community-wide dinner Thursday at Marion Elementary School with several carry-out meals taken to those not able to attend.

“Beary Special Babies” born at St. Luke Hospital during the month of November were Eric William Vogel, Nov. 5; Monica Nicole Taylor, Nov. 11; Justin Lee Herzet, Nov. 13; and Nicholas Adam Klenda, Nov. 18.

Marion High School students Melissa Ramsey, Jenny Martens, and Jim Cyr are pictured as they dish up Christmas dinner Monday for senior citizens at Marion Senior Center. Students in Brenda Coryea’s foods class prepared the traditional meal that was served by Kadon Hodson, Matt Gultz, Julie Jacobson, Jamie Bailey, Sherry Lange, Bob Mans, Jennifer Blount, and Sam Peterson.
