Marion Motor Center will officially relocate Thursday to the former ASCS building just south of its former location. The lot where the agency was located before the disastrous fire has been sold to Florence grocers, Rick Turner and Greg Carlson.

Jo Helmer was in Washington, D.C., from April 4 to 8 attending the spring leadership symposium of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Helmer serves as president of the Flint Hills Association for the Education of Young Children and operates Joys of Childhood Child Care in Marion.

Larry Buller, auto-mechanics class at Marion High School, is pictured receiving the keys to a brand new 1991 Chevrolet Astro mini-van from John Reznicek of Irv Schroeder County Motors. The donated vehicle will be used solely for instructional purposes.

Margie and Kenny Sandwell, Kathy Klose and Jeremy of Hillsboro, and Tammy Snelling went to Oklahoma City to welcome Sgt. Jay Sandwell, who has returned home from overseas duty as part of Operation Desert Shield.

Florence Chamber of Commerce vice president Russell Hett is pictured presenting a “First $2 of Profit” plaque to Bret O’Dell, new owner of Florence Hardware. O’Dell also owns Bret’s Butcher Block in Florence.
