Art Rohn, Wichita State University professor speaking at the annual Marion Kiwanis ladies’ night banquet, told the audience to be on lookout for evidence of prehistoric bison skulls in the Marion area. Evidence points to Indians living in the area as early as the 1400s.

Monsignor Arthur Tonne, pastor of St. John Nepomucene parish at Pilsen, will be a featured guest Friday on the “Late Night with David Letterman” television program.

Melanie Kraus, a senior at Marion High School, has been voted “Student of the Month” for February by the faculty. She is the daughter of Don and Vicki Kraus. Melanie plans to attend Fort Hays State University majoring in nursing and specializing in pediatrics.

Wedding announcements in this issue are those of Dawn Delight Plett and Donald R. Hett who were married January 2 and Tamara Marais Peterson and Alan Dale Weinbrenner who exchanged vows December 22.

The sixth birthday of Jamie Bernhardt, daughter of Dennis and Donna Bernhardt was celebrated Saturday at three separate events. A pizza party for little friends was held at Gambino’s in the afternoon. Guests were Carla Carlson, Racheal Vogel, Skylar Bauman, Haley Creamer, JoAnna McGinness, Shawna Hett, and Lisa Loveless.
