15 named to all-league teams
Fifteen Marion High School athletes were named to all-league teams in baseball and softball this week.
The state runner-up baseball team had four Heart of America first-teamers: senior pitcher Sam Zinn, senior first baseman Evann Heidebrecht, junior third baseman Luke Lanning, and junior utility man Cooper Carpenter.
Three Warriors made the second team: senior pitcher Chase Stringer, junior pitcher Jaxton Tracy, and senior designated hitter Blaine Mermis.
Senior outfielder Camerson Steward was an honorable mention.
Led by two underclassmen on the first team, Marion landed seven players on the Heart of America all-league softball team.
Freshman infielder Jayden May and sophomore outfielder Chisholm Waner were named to the first team.
Sophomore catcher Macy Sigel and a pair seniors, infielder Tori Shults and outfielder Corrina Crabb, were named to the second team.
Junior pitcher Grace Overton and sophomore infielder Laura Savage were named to the third team.
