MORE

March 19, 1880

The new paper made its appearance last week, and floats under the name of Marion Banner. Mr. E.D. Hunt is announced as proprietor and business manager, and Mr. C.S. Triplett as editor. We extend the right hand of friendship to our new neighbors, and shall be glad to have them help us whoop up the boom.

The new Catholic church in the now Catholic town, in the south part of the county, will be 45x104 feet in size, built of stone.

We understand that Mr. Jex contemplates building three new stone business buildings adjoining and similar to the handsome one now being completed for Mr. Roe Williams.

The Chicago Lumber Company is accumulating lumber at their new yard, on the corner of First and Main, and from appearances means business on an extensive scale.

The Presbyterians occupied their church for the first time for several months, last Sunday. The Sabbath school will be re-organized next Sunday. The completion of the church has cost $800 and the edifice is now one of which the town, as well as the Presbyterians, may well be proud.
