Friends and fellow citizens, are you aware that the 10th of February approaches when rulers for the municipality of which Centre is the appellation, must be chosen?

Butcher Schmidt has built a large slaughter house and ice house on his newly purchased ground near the Cottonwood bridge on First Street.

Mr. Wand is preparing to manufacture boot blacking for wholesale purposes. We have seen some of it and had ocular demonstrations that it is a good polish.

Few banks in the State will have more elegant quarters than the Bank of Marion Centre, when it moves into its new rooms, in Lockwood’s block.

Henry Arnholt has fitted up the room formerly occupied by Bates’ Pea Nut Stand, and opened a tobacco and confection store of his own. Henry is a clever young man, and we advise you to do what his unique sign invited you to do, “stop and see Henry.”

Mr. W.F. Kershaw of England and Mr. W.K. Tillerton of New York have purchased a farm a few miles northeast of Marion Centre and will build a house immediately and go into the sheep business.
