Marion Centre is now in telegraphic communication with the world. Messages commenced to pass over the new wires last week.

Mr. L.C. Richards marketed a pig in Marion Centre, last Wednesday that weighed six hundred and seventy pounds. Pretty good size pig, that.

Mr. George Coble brought us a pumpkin, last week, that weighed fifty-nine pounds.

We never smoke, and so our friend Will Bates “set up” apples to us instead of cigars. Since Saturday, Will has been one of the biggest men in the county, all because of the arrival of a ten pound boy.

The first formation of ice was seen yesterday morning.

Charlie Mehl’s meat market has been removed to his new building. It is a fine stand, neat and clean. We wish Charlie success in his new quarters.

One of the most tasty and artistic prescription cases in the west is the one recently executed for Dr. Rogers by Widmeyer & Glover. It is a very fine piece of painting, indeed.
