The popular bath rooms of the Y.M.C.A. are being remodeled and placed in fine condition. Secretary Brown is determined that this feature of the Association shall be made as attractive as time and money will permit. It is expected that everything will be in good running order by the last of next week.

Mr. Wm. Suffield brought us a curiosity Tuesday—two sweet potatoes grown upon the same ground, one a red and the other a white.

The ladies of the Baptist Aid Society will furnish dinner and supper on election day, and oysters in the evening, in the store formerly occupied by Davis’ harness shop.

Widow Harding, on the hill, wants some family washings to do. She will do good work, and needs it.

That was a magnificent demonstration made by the Republicans last Saturday. In the afternoon, a splendid audience assembled in the wigwam in Central Park to hear our former fellow townsman, Hon. S.R. Peters, and Hon. Clark Gray, of Larned. Mr. A.E. Case, an old settler, presided, and moved by the pioneer memories revived by the present of Mr. Peters, spoke feelingly of the early days.

Locklin and Butterfield is the name of the new grocery firm who has just purchased the S.P. Bown stock of groceries.

Geo. A. Trenner has just received a fine lot of 1847 Rogers Bros. knives, fork and spoons.
