The Record has not mentioned the change in the management of the Chingawasa Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Brooker have moved back to town, and Will Maltby and his sister, Mrs. Truitt, are now running the house, and running it well. They are attentive to guests, and the Record commends them to all contemplating a stay at this delightful health resort.

Mr. W.R. Clark went west Monday to buy several hundred head of cattle.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tidyman, who have been greatly enlarging and remodeling their residence on Third street, diagonally opposite the court house with a view to embarking in the hotel business, have the work nearly completed, and have decided to have a formal opening of the house next Saturday evening, Sept. 3. They have christened the Hotel, “Cottage House.” It is well located, nestled amid some large maple trees, and will make a pleasant place for guests.

Mr. T.M. Cragan has had bills printed at this office announcing a sale at his place three miles north and one mile west of Marion on Friday, Sept. 2, when’ he will sell corn in the field, timothy and clover hay, young hogs, buggy, wagon, fowls, household goods, etc.

This is a Republican year and no mistake. Lawyers R.L. King and H.S. Martin each rejoice in a new heir, but King’s is a boy and Martin’s a girl. That gives the Republicans a decided advantage, you see.
