Kansas never looked lovelier than at present, and never promised a richer harvest. It is simply glorious. Thanksgiving meetings ought to be held everywhere in gratitude to the Giver of all these good things.

Mr. S.F. Glass, our popular express agent, expects to start next Monday for a two months visit in Ohio. His primary motive is to see his mother, who is not well.

Rev. C.W. Keller, who has suffered so severely recently from his old army wound, that his life seemed for a while in imminent peril, had recovered sufficiently to be able to travel, and left Monday for a visit with his boys in Illinois. His brother, L.F., accompanied him as far as Kansas City.

The editor of this great agricultural journal was probably the first man in the county to eat new potatoes from his own patch. And yet an occasional calamity howler can be found who thinks we know nothing about raising anything except rows with the Alliance fellows.

The Chingawasa Health Resort was formally opened for the summer season Monday evening. A free ride was accepted by a large crowd, and the event was enjoyable. We could not go out that evening, but expect to go out soon, and give this beautiful resort a suitable “send off.”

The music of the harvester will be heard in Marion county next week, cutting the most magnificent crop of wheat ever raised in this county.
