Dr. Rogers witnessed the grand rush for Cheyenne-Arapahoe claims, and says it was a scene never to be forgotten.

Our popular bridge contractor, J.C. Watson, returned from Topeka Tuesday. While there, he was awarded bridge contracts aggregating about three thousand dollars.

William and Morton Crist shipped four carloads of very fine cattle to Chicago from Antelope last Saturday. Wash Grapes, of Middle Creek, shipped a carload of very nice cattle to Kansas City on Tuesday.

The peach and plum trees are in blossom. If the frost keeps off a few days we will have an abundance of fruit.

That magic lantern entertainment billed for the Morning Star school house last Saturday came off, with a very small audience. All are unanimous in pronouncing it a failure.

High School Commencement will take place at the M.E. church Wednesday evening, April 27. An admission fee of ten cents will be charged; a part of the proceeds will go to the High School library fund. Tickets can be procured at Stanford’s drug store, and also at the door of the church.

Oats are coming up splendid, and the dry weather the past week has given us ample time to prepare for corn. Some is already in and a large acreage will go in this week.
