Elmer Helea reports a veritable boom in the organ and machine business.

Those large, handsome, juicy apples that our neighbor Kirk has on exhibition and for sale, were raised by Mr. Vic Pratt on his splendid Center township farm. They are certainly fine specimens of Kansas fruit.

Taylor Riddle’s drug store seems to have been selected by Old Santa Claus for his headquarters this year.

Henry W. Hett, a successful farmer, came in last week and invested in one of Standford & Son’s carriages. By the way, the average Marion county farmer enjoys comforts of this kind, and the Record hopes that all of them will soon be able to be counted in the list.

A party of gentlemen attending Sheriff’s sale in front of the court house Monday had a narrow escape. The wind, you remember, was blowing a gale and it wrenched the door from the court house belfry and dashed it down on the pavement. It just missed Joe Dickerson and crashed through the heavy sidewalk.

Lawyer R.L. King has traded for the handsome Ketchman residence on the hill and moved into it. We hope this settles the talk of R.L.’s removement from Marion. We can’t afford to lose him.
