We hear good reports from Rosse Case who is teaching his first school near Burns.

Hon. Dallas Rogers is building a fine farm residence. A fine farmer and a fine gentleman is Mr. Rogers.

John Powers has traded the Zercher property for the Ed Baxter residence and moved into it last Tuesday.

The Quarry post office, which discontinued some weeks ago, has been re-established and mail is now delivered there.

Wednesday night was the first night of the season that really resembled winter, and there was considerable ice yesterday morning when the sun came up

E.S. Walton has taken a position with Loveless & Sackett. Mr. Walton is an excellent salesman, accommodating and kind. And his wide acquaintance and the high esteem in which he is held makes him a valuable man to any establishment.

Ike Runyan and Miss Jennie Rudd, cousins, who have each been away a long time studying photography, recently returned to Marion and will open a new gallery in a few days opposite the courthouse.

Our friend Will Suffield sent us a ‘possum Monday, but as we were just leaving town, we were unable to have it cooked, and hence were deprived of a good old Kentucky dish, relished by others, we want you to understand, besides the colored brother of the south. ‘Possum and sweet potatoes are not to be sneezed at.
