R.L. King and Charley Brooker splendidly rigged with a new covered wagon, fine set of greys and plenty of provisions, pulled out for Oklahoma Thursday.

Dr. Piper received an order last week for a large quantity of mineral water to be sent to Emporia. The fame of this water is spreading.

Squire Billings has opened a nice J.P. office in the store building near the Court House recently occupied by the superintendent of public instruction.

Wheeler Bros. are in receipt of a letter from a milling firm in Chattanooga, Tennessee, seeking sample and price of wheat and adding, “we expect to draw largely in your section for our wheat this season.” This is not a good calamity item.

Aaron Steiner and his all-wool, three-yard wide suit of clothes, returned from Chicago last week and the way the new goods have been unloading in front of his store the last few days removes all doubt as to Aaron’s being a calamity howler.

Mr. George A. Trenner, a young man who has grown up in Marion, graduated from the High School and learned the jewelry business here, has decided to embark in the business on his own hook and has secured a most eligible location in Stanford & Sons drug store. Here’s to your success, George.
