Uncle J.R. Westbrook treated us to peaches from his orchard last week.

The Royal Insurance Co., A.E. Case, agent, is the only company so far that has paid its loss on the Opera House block.

Our young friend, Willard Marsh, bought a new organ this week from agent Elmer Healea, and we have a suspicion that he does not expect to extract music from it alone very log.

The Record will probably never be forgiven by the young physician who has gone into partnership with Dr. Spence, for the failure to announce the fact last week, but we beg the boy’s pardon just the same.

The combination picnic got badly mixed. It rained quite heavily at Peabody Wednesday morning and although the excursionists were at the depot two hundred strong, the weather frightened them out. Meanwhile the weather was fine in Marion, and elaborate preparations were made to receive the visitors and to make their visit comfortable. Our band was out and the Methodist school marched to the depot in a body, Of course, there was great disappointment at both ends of the line. Aulne sent over a large delegation and these with many of our townspeople enjoyed a feast at Central Park.

Frank Bower has an old time smile on his face. His wife has returned.

We understand that Ed Shelmadine is coming back to Marion, having like every other searcher, failed to find a better place.
