Painter Sam Hill is exhibiting his skill on Mr. Loveless’ residence.

It has been almost cold enough for raincoats several days this week.

The balloon ascension at Florence on the Fourth is described by Marion visitors as a thrilling sight.

Mrs. Dr. Rogers and Mrs. Cy Locklin deserve special praise for the tasty manner in which they decorated the platform in the park for the Fourth.

The Chingawasa resort has opened up for the summer and trains are run daily. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones are in charge of the hotel. It is a good place to go for a day’s outing.

The long looked for station is being put in at Antelope by the Rock Island. The depot, sidetrack and stock yards will soon be ready for business and our friend Tom Reed wants to say that there is a fine business opening there for a rustler.

That man Remer, the Wilson township nurseryman, knows how to reach an editor’s heart. He knows that the road to the palpitator is through the stomach and so—he dumped about a peck of large, luscious red peaches on our desk Tuesday.

Not to be outdone by the fruit growers, our foreman, Dan Lindsay, brought us some Lucretia dewberries Wednesday which were nearly as large as an apricot.
