Quite a snow fell here Wednesday. It came down gently, covered the ground evenly, and was greatly appreciated by the owners of wheat fields and sleighs.

If King Ahab was ruling in Marion, A.D. Billings would now be hiding in some cave around here, like Elijah of old. A.D. predicted this blizzard early last week.

Mr. J.M. Young has returned from his prolonged visit in Pennsylvania and New York, a wiser if not a richer man. He went to sell some horses you know. You shouldn’t say anything against Kansas and in favor of the east in Joe’s presence hereafter, that is, if you want to keep out of trouble.

Thompson & Farr’s business has grown so extensively that they have found it necessary to enlarge their quarters. They have therefore fitted up a clothing department in the second story and have constructed a neat stairway leading to it.

The orchestra is an attractive feature of the Y.M.C.A. meetings on Sunday afternoons. Ed and Roger Hannaford play the clarinet, George Trenner plays the flute and Orrin Weimer the cornet. They make fine music which is greatly appreciated by the Association and all who attend the meetings.
