Another worthy old soldier has been made happy. Frank Wright has received an increase of his pension, raising it to ten dollars per month, and five or six hundred dollars back pay. These are the kind of items we like to print.

J.S. Dean, Dave Wheeler, Stewart Beebe, Dr. Rogers, Frank Carpenter, James Arnold, Sam Clark, Herb McLead and Ed Baxter returned from their Oklahoma hunting trip Tuesday night. They report a great time. They brought a fine deer home with them. There seems to be some dispute as to who is entitled to the honor of bagging the buck, and if the boys don’t agree about it, we shall insist that they bought it from a cowboy. Dean brought home a wild turkey, which he feasted on yesterday, Thanksgiving day.

Mr. A.E. Case’s house was a scene of lively enjoyment last Friday evening. About 7 o’clock, a large company of young people gathered at the home of Mr. Trenner and from there went in a body to give Rosse a grand surprise, which they did. He soon recovered himself sufficiently to entertain them in a manner very commendable.

Marion’s banks, solid, substantial institutions they are, have stood the financial storm, which has swept over the whole country without a quiver. Every citizen ought to be proud of these banks and bankers.

Of course, the RECORD found the owner of the baby’s velvet jacket. It was Mrs. Herr.
