City Marshal V.E. Healea, for many years a prominent citizen here, was shot and killed instantly a few minutes after 3 o’clock last Friday morning while questioning two suspicious men at Winkley’s garage. The two men later were apprehended in Herington and were bound over to be tried at the May term of court.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferm have purchased Miesse Bakery and took possession Wednesday. Ernest Noce will continue as baker, and Roy Frazer will take Maurice Miesse’s place.

The Tennis Club is planning to make some improvements in their courts south of the Santa Fe depot so as to have them ready for use as soon as warm weather comes to stay.

A great moving picture of the San Francisco Exposition is coming to the Auditorium. The big army and navy review, the Painted Desert, the Santa Fe Indian village, the Hawaiian exhibit, and many other wonderful sights of the greatest International Exposition will be pictured.

Messrs. Yeagley, Brooks and Bland of the Wren neighborhood are each the owner of a new Ford car.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Elliot, who have been living in town during the winter on account of school privileges, moved the last of the week back to their farm in Wilson Township.
