The ladies of the M.E. church announce they will serve dinner and supper on election day.

H.M. King is building a one story building just east of Riggs Bros. on Main street. The building is to have a cement floor. Thus all the lots made vacant by the burning of the Leachman hotel, have buildings on them.

James Carter now has his gasoline launch, the Zenith, in service on the Cottonwood.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tarbet are combining business and pleasure in Kansas City this week. Mr. Tarbet is buying a fine line of goods for the Red Cross Pharmacy.

The M.E. Sunday school picnic was held Wednesday in the Stafford grove south of town.

The high school library has in it a fine oak book case capable of holding many more volumes of text and reference books. Several public-spirited citizens have presented to the school some choice volumes in the past year and many more would be acceptable at any time.

The Baptist Sunday school had a fine time at Chingawasa grove Wednesday.

Last Tuesday evening the Baptist society, or at least a large number of them, called at the home of their pastor, Rev. Frank C Ward and spent a very enjoyable evening. The ladies took canned fruit for future use and the gentlemen provided watermelons and a feast was spread. A fine time is reported.
