J.F. Langdon, representing the American Alfalfa Co., Wichita, was in Marion Friday conferring with Mr. John Ehrlich about the proposed alfalfa mill for Marion. The result of the conference was that the mill will be established at the old sugar mill south of town if the city will put in a bridge. The abutments of the old bridge need strengthening and raising above the high water mark. The statement is also made that the machinery will be put in as soon as the bridge is in shape.

Dr. R.C. Smith is having his residence raised; a furnace put in and will remodel the interior of the house. Mrs. Smith went to McPherson Wednesday to stay at her mother’s while these repairs are in progress.

At the regular meeting of the council Monday evening, a great deal of important business was taken care of. This included that the fountain in Central Park will be repaired and put in proper shape; the city will pay $6 per month for sprinkling on Main and side streets; and moving of the retaining wall on the east side of the court house grounds will be decided with the county commissioners with the view of having it moved back on a line with the post office corner.

Members of the Marion High School graduation class are Miss Fae Paddock, Messrs. Chester Evans, Harry Rogers, Will Burkholder, Gillis Hodge, Wallace Magathan, Lawrence Kelley and Ross Miller.
