Times change. When Stephen Jex built that stone building in the ’80s which is being remodeled by Mr. Ferm, the town was awfully proud of it. Jex was an artist in stone work and that scroll carving, oak leaves, and other chiseling was the pride of the town. Now it gives way to a more modern brick front.

Alex Hanson has joined with Mr. Paul H. Hanstine in the purchase of Scott’s Hardware store and the new firm will be known and Hanson & Hanstine.

The Garden Theater will open with Mary Pickford in “Heart O’ The Hills” Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 16th and 17th. Matinee Tuesday at 2:30. Adm. 15c and 35c. Show will start at 7:15, 8:30, and 9:45.

Fred Propp is beginning extensive remodeling of the garage he recently purchased adjoining the Record office.

A fine plate glass front will be put in, making a modern and model show house for his automobiles, and the second story will be made over into office rooms. A new stairway will be constructed.
