Watch for the Big Minstrel Parade next Monday.

Marion will play football against Herington on Thanksgiving Day, the last game of the season. The team was beaten at Manhattan last Friday afternoon, 31 to 0. This is the second time the Marion team has been beaten this year, having lost the opening game to Emporia. The Manhattan team is regarded as perhaps the leading H.S. team of the state.

There have been a number of cases of small-pox in Florence and the schools have been closed for a week or two, but we understand that the disease has been of a very mild form and that no one has been in critical condition. A strict quarantine has been enforced and it is thought that the spread of the disease has been checked.

The Question. As to the need of the new school building, there is no question. Every department is crowded. The work is seriously handicapped. And the question is whether Marion will meet the need and offer to the boys and girls of the town adequate, modern school advantages, or will say that the buildings of the seventies and eighties are still good enough.

Extensive improvements are in progress at the Herbert M. Thorp residence—an addition, some remodeling, and installation of a new furnace.
