A great bunch of Marion boosters, including the band, is going to Herington today to attend the National Old Trails Convention. There will probably be fifty or more autos in the party. A lot of big banners have been prepared and Marion is to be “right on the map.”
Four of last year’s football men have enrolled in the high school. The squad is in need of good husky students to fill the places made vacant by the men who graduated last year.
The Methodists have bought the Smith property one black east of the church for a parsonage and the old building, which Dr. Smith gets as part consideration, will be moved to another location. The removal of the old house will improve the looks of the church environs.
A bunch of breeders of the thoroughbred Herefords in the county met at the Court House Saturday afternoon and organized the Marion County Hereford Breeders’ Association. One of the things that will be done by the association is the holding of an annual sale.
The net proceeds from the picture show at the Auditorium next Tuesday evening will be turned into the fund for the purchase of equipment for a public playground. On that evening, in addition to other reels, will be shown the first episode of “Liberty,” a big new serial which Harry Rogers is putting on.
