Officers of the Seymour Packing Co. of Topeka were here last week and met with a number of businessmen to discuss the matter of the possible location of a packing plant here. The Company is a big one with a splendid reputation and any community that secures the location of the plant will be fortunate.

With the substantial start now in sight for the maintenance of a city library, why not go after a Carnegie library? It looks like it might be secured now—about a $10,000 building, which is large enough—with comparative ease.

The Edmunds Barber Shop has been brightened up this week with a new coat of wall paper. And new plumbing fixtures have recently been installed.

Miss Emma Siebert is organizing a music class here and makes a specialty of children’s work. Her splendid training and teaching experience give her fine equipment for her work.

The German Baptist minister, Rev. Pankratz, held a baptismal service at the English Baptist church Sunday. Twenty-eight members were received into the church.

At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Powers, Miss Dora Powers was married to Mr. Eritt Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Phillips, on last Sunday.

Bruce Grimes has bought the laundry business of Forest and Hartzel Ray and Charley Niederhauser.
