Marion County Attorney Susan Robson presented a contract proposal Friday to county commissioners that would allow TransCanada’s Keystone Pipeline to pass through the county. Robson said she felt rushed by TransCanada representatives and did not like it. The county needs to be careful about the contract because of what is at stake, Commissioner Bob Hein said.

An article in this issue features Father Hien Nguyen, pastor of Holy Family Parish of Marion County, telling of his recent visit to his homeland in Vietnam. Father Nguyen is pictured as he enjoys his visit with relatives.

A feature story tells how wounded warrior Army Sgt. Ryan Newell is adjusting to home life with wife, Carrie, and children Ethan, Skylar, and Gabby. An organization, Homes for Our Troops is building a house for the Newells in Marion.
