Marion City Council approved a lease Monday with Auto House of Galva for the business to use the city’s speculative building at the industrial park.

Classes holding reunions Old Settlers’ Day and having the attendees pictured in this issue include the Marion High School class of 1948, 60th anniversary; class of 1958, 50th; and class of 1968, 40th.

Eleven teams from eight towns participated Saturday in the second annual Chili Cook-off at Marion County Park and Lake. Winners were Barbara McCurdy and Marci Davis of Goddard.

Pupils at Marion Elementary School named as October students of the month are Breanna Doyle, Molly Hess, Kristen Herzet, Reann Hamm, Raleigh Kroupa, Drew Helmer, Tori Allen, Hailey Carter, Samantha Richmond, Jimi Dornbush, Tori Shults, Megan Bailey, Melanie Garrett, Macy Sigel, Matthew Christensen, and Emma Neal.

A feature story tells about the Sherbert family and their facility, Sher-Bowl Family Fun Center & Sports Bar at 131 S. Thorp, Marion. The popular bowling alley now has a new addition of a video arcade, sports bar, and grill.
