Marion High School has announced 2008 homecoming king and queen candidates are Lucy Collett, Amanda Richmond, Camille Christensen, Elliot Hett, Luke Gordon, and Mitchell Leppke.

The American Red Cross blood drive Sept. 8 netted 60 donors, missing the goal of 70. Pins were given to Denice Bina, one gallon; Elaine Ewert, two gallons; and Janet Bryant, 13 gallons.

Marion High School Warrior volleyball team captured the 2008 Centre tournament Saturday at Centre High School. Team members are Emmali Kelsey, Kathy Goering, Ralene Allen, Whitney Gordon, Julia Zeiner, Emily Hett, Annie Whitaker, Chassidy Carlson, Kristen Steinborn, Lindsay Hett, Tiffany Christensen, and Kayley Heerey.

Homemade aprons took center stage Wednesday noon at Marion Senior Center. Thelma Blosser led the interesting program with aprons being worn by Carol Hett, Shirley Bowers, Ellen Darrow, Jeannie Maki, Nora Richter, Virginia Bowers, Evelyn Jewett, Leonard Klassen, Luella Popp, Pauline Edmunds, and Sylvia Helmer.

Marion Elementary School third graders received dictionaries Sept. 5 as part of an annual event sponsored by Elks Lodge 427 of Wichita. Students pictured receiving dictionaries are Zane Slater and Jarret McLinden.
