Hannaford is believed to be the oldest active newspaper journalist in the state. She has been writing for the Marion County Record since 1999.

Fourth grade students Shayla Kline, Trevor Kruse, Bret Voth, and Adam Janzen are pictured as they watch Marion High School student Adam Fine demonstrate oil painting during Fine Arts Day.

County Lakes Café, 202 East Main, Marion, lost a chunk of the west wall of the building early Tuesday morning that left a section showing the building’s original brick siding. Owner Barb Smith says “We are taking the necessary steps to make repairs.” The business was closed Tuesday but they are hoping to reopen today, Wednesday.

Those businesses and individuals who wish to enter their concrete rhinos in the Easter decorating contest must contact Marion Chamber of Commerce by March 23. Judging will be the morning of March 26.
