Interim Marion County Emergency Medical Services Director Larry Larsen was offered and accepted the director’s position on a permanent basis during Monday morning’s session of Marion County Commission.

Marion High School cross-country and track standout Danielle Cope recently signed a national letter of intent with Cloud County Community College to participate in cross-country and track. She is pictured with coaches and her parents, Sarah and Clint Cope.

Country music band Trick Pony will be the main attraction June 2 during this year’s Chingawassa Days in Central Park. Tickets go on sale April 15 and will be $20, which includes admission to all the events throughout the weekend.

Thieen Antoszyk and Alyssa Luna were crowned king and queen Friday during winter homecoming activities at Centre High School. Antoszyk is the son of John Antoszyk, Ramona, and Kim Ditto, Fort Riley. Luna is the daughter of George and Dawn Luna, Antelope.

Karen Wheeler, ARNP, started work a couple of weeks ago at Marion Family Physicians. She replaced Ruth Reed who retired Feb. 2. Wheeler has been a nurse practitioner for nearly 10 years with 27 years of coronary care experience.
