Former Marion County Record editor and publisher Bill Meyer died Tuesday evening at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was 81.

The 17th annual Thanksgiving dinner will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. November 23 at Marion Middle School, 125 S. Lincoln.

Members of the Catholic Youth Organization of Holy Family Parish have donated soccer balls, pumps, and school supplies to be sent to Ramona native Simon Makovec who is serving in Iraq. Makovec requested the items for Iraqi children who have lost toys and supplies because of the war.

Farmers and ranchers are invited to the annual farm/city steak feed, beginning at 6 p.m. Monday in the basement of Marion City Building, 203 N. Third.

Byron Bina of Lincolnville was named division second runner-up auctioneer and first runner-up ring man Oct. 27-28 at the 2006 Open World Auctioneers and Ring Man Championship at San Diego, California.

The classical Lerner and Lowe musical “My Fair Lady” will be presented this weekend at Marion Auditorium. It features Jordan Timm as Professor Henry Higgins and Tedra Eis as Eliza Doolittle. Director Janet Killough says approximately 60 students are involved in the production.
