Two couples announce plans in this issue to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries. Matthew and Mary Kay Classen of Marion will be honored at a reception August 20 at St. Mark’s Activity Center, Marion. Charles R. and Carol Jean Moulton of Salina will celebrate August 20 at an open house at Emmanuel Four Square Church, Salina.

Outstanding employee of the third quarter at St. Luke Hospital is Mary Ann Conyers who has been employed by St. Luke for 20 years in nursing, surgery, and home health care.

Marion Junior Girl Scout Troop No. 58 traveled July 29-31 to Oklahoma City for a year-end trip. Those going included Cara Martin, Erin Meierhoff, Monica Spachek, Cassandra McPhail, Emily Cyr, Balee Shiplet, JayDee Schafers, Ericka Herzet, Jennifer Fruechting, and Karly Hess.

Pictured in this issue is Martie Holmer, daughter of Marion native, late C.H. Mullen, as she presents Cynthia Blount at Marion Historical Museum with a scrapbook compiled by her father during his high school years, 1931-1935.

Chad Buchholz has been named store manager of Wells Fargo’s newest store in the Pike’s Peak region of Colorado, which opened Aug. 1. The son of Marlin and Debbie Buchholz, Chad is a 1998 graduate of Marion High School. He has been with Wells Fargo since 2004.
