The City of Marion’s new pumper fire truck arrived this past week. The truck was driven from South Dakota by volunteer fireman and city employee, Thad Meierhoff.

A 2001 graduate of Marion High School, Steven Janzen, is returning this week to be an officer with Marion Police Department. Following graduation from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Janzen worked at Nickerson and was a guard Hutchison Correctional Center.

Marion Ogden presented a program about antiques at a March 6 meeting of 20th Century Club. Members brought treasured antiques to share. Ogden critiqued each item and placed a value on what he thought it was worth.

Chelsea Arnhold won 107 matches in her wrestling career at Marion High School — wrestling with boys. The 2005 graduate was rewarded for her efforts by being named to the 2005 TheMat.com/ASICS girls’ high school All-American wrestling team.

Rodney Mueller bowled a perfect game of 300 Sunday at Salina Men’s City Bowling Tournament. This achievement was rewarded with a gold ring from the United States Bowling Association.
