Two helicopters were called to Florence Wednesday afternoon to assist in a search for a fugitive that was chased from El Dorado to Marion County and another person who fled while being questioned at a parking lot in Florence. Both are still at large at press time.
Marion Middle School scholar’s team of Derek Stuchlik, Landon Leiker, Patrick Hodson, E.J. Obermeyer, and Madison Chamberland took first Feb. 21 at the MCAA quad at Lyons.
St. Luke Living Center residents participated in a spelling bee Feb. 20. Words were easily spelled correctly for more than an hour. After the list of 250 words was exhausted Lee Wigley and Ruth Kissel were declared winners. Minamae Bierman placed second, and Agnes Bina, third.
