Tornadoes hop scotched across the county Sunday afternoon. The first reported sighting was three miles southwest of Pilsen. There were numerous sightings, but minimal damage. A blizzard raging in western Kansas brought cooler temperatures and hopefully an end to the 2005 tornado season in Kansas.

Two hundred and fifty people attended the annual Marion community Thanksgiving dinner. Among those attending were 80 football players from Tabor College who were traveling by bus to South Dakota for a game on Friday.

Marion High School seniors Adrienne Chamberland and Braden Suffield have been named Marion High School students of the month by MHS faculty and staff.

Tim Stevenson is the new store manager of Deer Trail Implement, Inc. in Marion. It’s his job to oversee the day-to-day operation of the business. He replaces Steve Wear, who now works as salesman for the company.

Santa arrived in Marion Friday afternoon to visit children in his house on Main Street. Santa is pictured as he listens intently while Kassady Griffin, 7, daughter of Justin and Katrina Griffin of Strong City and granddaughter of Paul and Kathy Swan of Marion makes her requests.
