ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

April 15 — Theft of a lawnmower and a fender-bender in an alley between Main and Ash Sts. were investigated. Police helped a locked-out resident and heard a resident’s concerns about harassment.

April 16 — A reportedly suspicious person in Pizza Hut’s parking lot turned out to be someone who had stopped to use a phone. A driver in the 1000 block of E. D St. was warned about speeding. Drivers in the 300 block of S. Ash St. and in the 200 block of S. Main St. received speeding tickets. A person who drove off without paying for fuel at Ampride was contacted.

April 17 — Police again discussed a resident’s concerns about harassment. A driver in the 700 block of E. D St. was warned for speeding.

Thursday — A fender-bender at Salem Homes was investigated. A driver was warned for making a J-turn in the 100 block of N. Main St.

Friday — Police monitored a traffic concern at the high school, spoke to a resident about bicycle safety equipment, and found no problems in investigating a disconnected 911 call from Tabor College. Drivers in the 100 and 300 blocks of E. D St. were warned for making improper turns.

Saturday — Recovered property was returned. Police met with youths regarding an animal control matter. Four child seats were inspected. A parking complaint at Grand Ave and Madison St. was investigated. A driver was ticketed for running a stop sign in the 100 block of W. D. St. Drivers received warning for making improper turns in the 400 block of S. Main St. and the 400 block of S. Lincoln St., for making a J-turn and having loud exhaust in the 100 block of N. Main St., for equipment violations at US-56 and Orchard Dr. and in the 300 block of N. Ash St., for speeding and an equipment violation at US-56 and K-15/Holly Rd., and for failing to maintain a proper lane at US-56 and Old Mill Rd.

Sunday — A driver was warned for an equipment violation in the 200 block of S. Main St.

MARION

April 15 — An unwanted person was removed from a location in the 400 block of Walnut St.

April 16 — Police met with a person about cattle missing in the county and helped someone get to Herington.

April 17 — A non-injury accident near Roosevelt and Kellison Sts. was investigated. Police intervened in a property dispute in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. A driver was warned about an equipment violation in the 300 block of S. 3rd St. Another driver was ticketed for having no license or registration in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Two drivers were warned — one for an unspecified moving violation, the other for an equipment violation — at US-56 and Cedar St.

Thursday — A dog was reported loose near Marion Elementary School. A resident complained of trespassing in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. A driver at Eisenhower Dr. and Kellison St. was cited for multiple, unspecified moving violations. Another driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.

Friday — A driver was warned for speeding in the 500 block of E. Main St.
