Al Richardson, one of Marion’s most widely known and genuinely liked businessman, died early Tuesday evening at his home. He was 71 years of age and had been in failing health for several months.

Eight more carloads of cattle were unloaded Saturday afternoon at Oursler.

Wedding write-ups in this week’s issue include those of Lucille Funk and Richard Stucky, who were married April 19; Verna Epp and Wilbur Reimer, April 22; Betty Lou Popp and Arthur Mueller, April 17; and Ruth Holub and Ralph Rogers, April 19.

According to scoutmaster Virgil Wiebe, Marion Boy Scouts will have an overnight training camp Friday at Waterworks Park.

The list of Marion High School teachers for 1949-’50 is complete with the addition of Floyd R. Yaussi, who comes to Marion from Marysville. The returning faculty includes E.W. Volkland, Eulalia Cook, Charles Davis, Ruth Davis, Phyllis Hagel, E.M. Ireland, D.B. Jantz, E. Leon Kearney, Marion T. Shepherd, and Leslie Wiebe.

Now that fishing season is returning, the sanitary service contractor asks that we remind Marion householders not to put fish bones in garbage. Garbage is fed to swine, and bones, glass, etc. are injurious.
